Beauty | My Current Fav’s

I haven’t done an updated favourites on here in a long time! So I thought I would sit down and have a think about the things I am currently loving! This list could probably go on for a while so I have just picked out a few beauty products, some lifestyle bits including my ‘go-to’ lunch recipe and my new FAV hair duo.

Impulse shopping at its best. But a great purchase all the same. I bought this whilst showing a friend through Sephora in Melbourne. I had wanted one of these mini palettes for so long and whilst I was in the mood I thought why not.
The eye shadows themselves are super pigmented and definitely stay all day even without primer! Like literally I can do a 12 hour shift and they will still be there good as new.
There is a tiny amount of fall out but really, nothing to complain about!

I do believe, that this is actually a men’s product but I honestly couldn’t care as I think this may be my top skincare product of 2018. Big call, but seriously, this stuff is amazing. I have never known a scrub to do more wonderful things to my skin and I seriously notice a difference after using it.

It is actually my partners face scrub but I decided to try it out in the shower one day and oh wow. My face was described afterwards as a ‘shiny bauble’ but I thought that was a compliment. I only use it once or twice a week and it has lasted us both a long time! It is definitely something which I will continue to buy!

As someone who has dry\combo skin, I have always been a huge fan of face oils. I bought this one to try out in my night time routine as the one I was using was about to run out. So glad I did because this stuff is fab.

It really sinks in well and applies fine under moisturiser. It leaves your skin glowing the next day and very hydrated! I notice quite a difference when I forget to use it (or am lazy). I haven’t really tried using it during the day as I am moist enough with a moisturiser, however, if you have really dry skin I can bet this would be great under/ mixed with foundation as well.

Don’t shoot me. I know, its expensive and there are alternatives! I am the queen of dupes and cheaper alternatives but when it comes to the beauty blender. Damn, the original is the best. And this is coming from a long term, faithful user of the Real Techniques sponge.

I only started using this because it was a freebie/ gift with purchase as I would have never bought it myself. I use it to apply my liquid foundation and concealer and it works great! Gives you more of an airbrushed look than anything else I have ever used no matter what foundation I have tried it with. Applying foundation used to take me SO much longer than it does now I don’t know that it will ever leave my beauty routine!

This purchase was for sure a bit of an out of the box one for me but in fairness, I used vouchers to buy it. I can not tell you how long I have wanted one of these blushes and it really is worth it. Its SO beautiful and with something like blush, its going to last me so so so long.

I was a bit sceptical before buying this blush but honestly, whether I love it because of the fact of it being high end or just loving it in general… its so good. It is super easy to blend & radiates a soft highlight / shimmer in the light. I feel so confident and so much more pulled together wearing it! Unfortunately, it has now kiiiind of made me want to buy more of the products! So I mean, watch this space because you may see that soon!

GAME CHANGER are the words I would use to describe this range.

If you know me, you know that forever I have struggled with my hair and my scalp. It is constantly flaking, itchy and unbearable. I have tried everything under the sun from medicated, natural, herbal… you name it and nothing has ever worked until THIS.

I bought it not because of any reviews or searching but just because I happened to walk past the store and see it advertised! At this point I was more thinking what do I have to lose!

I can thankfully say that it really really worked! It has not 100% fixed the problem but it has saved me enough that on a day to day basis, I rarely think about it anymore. I rarely worry about flaking going all over my clothes or being seen constantly scratching my head. It really is wonderful and I would seriously recommend it if you have scalp problems!

#savetheplanet and all that. But really. I don’t remember the last time I bought a bottle of water in single use plastic. Having a stainless drinkbottle that keeps liquid cold for 24hrs is such a dream. I haven’t tried warm drinks in my bottle however I know it is supposed to keep them warm for 12 hours as well! Perfect for a day out, hiking etc!

A bonus is that it is really light & made out of stainless steel and not glass! Perfect for being able to take to the gym or around and about without the fear of it smashing and causing havoc!

I bought this coffee cup because I was sick of buying single use coffee cups. It really is such a waste & I drink a fair amount of coffee! And although there are many many types of these coffee cups on the market, I chose Frank Green because well, its pretty cool looking, it has a tab at the top so it does not leak!! and also it keeps coffee hot for up to 10 hours!

You can also choose from a range of colours and I am pretty sure the newer ones also have paypass so its super easy to pay for your hot drink! If you are in need of a new reusable cup, I highly recommend getting one of these!

I bought this because I was in desperate need of an upgrade! I have had my charge 2 for many years and it had pretty much just stopped working. However, I didn’t really want to pay for a new one so decided to save up my gift vouchers and get one!

Its super cool and has so many random features. Waterproof, different types of exercise tracking, paywave, touchscreen, weather, heartrate… the list is pretty endless. I really do love this little peace of technology! It keeps me accountable to my step goals and is also just handy as a watch!

However… there are a few negatives to this product and although I love it, I wish I could change. One, the strap. It sucks. Its quite uncomfortable, still rubs as the old one did and can just be a bit annoying because they are changeable & are a bit loose where they connect to the screen. Two, it still gives a burn if you leave it on too long… some weird fault I think and three is that it sometimes does not update the sleep tracking properly. Other than that. Its great!

I received the first book in this series as a Christmas present. If you know me well, you know that my fav TV show of all time is Bones. I became obsessed as a teenager and it never left. It’s that show I go to when I feel like watching something without paying attention. Somehow, I did NOT know about the book series and the excitement was REAL when I opened that present.

The book itself is similar to the TV series but also different in its own way which is really cool. I finished it in about 3 days so am really looking forward to getting more! I even went out and bought more of her other books as Kathy Reichs is just a fab writer in general!

This is a bit of a new segment in my favourites but thought it could be a fun edition when I have one I am loving!

  • 450g Tinned Salmon
  • 1 large Sweet Potato – Mashed
  • 2 tbsp coconut flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Fresh Herbs (parsley is great)
  • Salt & Pepper

  1. Cook Sweet Potato until soft, mash & set aside to cool.
  2. In a bowl, add the salmon, sweet potato, eggs, flour, chopped herbs, S & P.
  3. Make around 10 patties with the mixture and cook on each side for about 3-4 minutes (or pop in the oven for about 10 minutes)

Serve with salad or make into burgers and have with homemade fries & mayo!

And that’s it for my favourite things at the moment!
